Just came across this, Jim Semikoski's (Of Jim's Shells) website. Some excellent kitbashes on there, especially given that most were done without the wealth of parts we now have.

apologies if you already knew about this one.

Excellent site--Yep, most of those kitbases were done in the Dark Ages of N scale....

someone was distributing his shells at some point, but that ended.

You aren't alone. Supposedly, he divested of the molds. There has been some recent searching. So far, all leads dead end. Rumor mill is they were disposed of. As in land fill....

It always amazes me how rumors get going. Anyway, Jim and I had worked a deal with Liberty Models to produce our shells. The owner of Liberty went through a divorce and couldn't hold up his end of the deal. We got most of our masters back. No molds were ever sent and Jim and I still have them to this day. We decided to stop making shells because we were starting on our own layouts and needed the spare time to focus on them. What amazes me is that when Intermountain releases their FP7, every shell I had kitbashed will be comercially available. Many of Jim's have been released as well, although I think a few are still unique.

Thanks for the clarification, Mark! Rumors are always pernicious, and spread faster than tumbleweeds.
