I still have all the Marx trains I showed old photos of last week. Here is an RPO Baggage that my dad hammered out of sheet tin, soldered together and hand painted, lettering and all. The trucks are stock Marx.
Russell, that looks like an interesting item...I haven't seen one of those in my limited time in the hobby. Looks like it might be heavy! Here is a yard view with an NYC limited en pointe, ready to climb out of Seneca Falls. It's an overcast day.
Below is a shot that models the village that I live but circa 1935 rather than its appearance today, as depicted on an HO module I built about 15 years ago as part of a group modular show layout. The structures were all based on vintage photos of the village that I gathered from local old-timers. I'm afraid that the image quality leaves something to be desired since it's a scan of an old color print I took when the module had just been completed. NYW&B
I was so inspired by Wolfgang's custom weathered Trix Mikado (weathering a mike) he showed here a few weeks ago... I decided to take a crack at it on my own... So, here you go! The LALLEY Ohio RR gets another mike for coal duty. I also upgraded the sound board to a Soundtraxx Tsunami and put in a high bass speaker. Much improved sound! I dare say that this little engine runs so smoothly and sounds so great that it's quickly becoming my favorite little worker.
As you may have noticed, over the last few weeks, my time has been spent "turtle-izing" several boxcar for a couple of buddies and myself. The last one of the bunch is now finished, and I thought I would put them all together. the latest and the others
I did some light weathering on my new Athearn RailBox. I also changed out the couplers. It now sports a new pair a Kadee #5's.
Nice Turtles Nice Turtl-izing, River Eagle! I've got a box car on the bench...she just might get painted this weekend! Paul H. Liddiard
Loyd, the grass is made with a "Gras - Master" from Noch. I used a mixture of several different grass foliage from Noch and Woodland. Stefan
Congrats, Lloyd, nice looking engine! I was lucky. I did run a train but forgot my bridge: The train was moving slowly. It stopped before the first engine dropped onto the floor, 50'' deeper. Wolfgang
You were very lucky, Wolfgang, and all modelers know that no amount of planning can replace "dumb luck"! :tb-ooh:
