    I need some help…..

I want to build an SD40-2B Unit like the BN’s but I’m unsure ware to start now. I thought I had it planned out but after picking up a SD40-2 non dynamic and SD40-2 Snoot nose undecorated shells. I got to looking at the pictures and the shells together and it looks like BN extended the nose on 7502. This is the unit that I had planned on modeling. I was going to use the Non Dynamic unit and install the Dynamic section out of the Snoot Nose on the front where the cab was. Now I’m not sure what to do the 7500 and 7501 are not as long as the 7502 unit but they have the Dynamic section still in its original location. I’m looking for ideas so any help would be appreciated.

Mike, ask and thou shalt receive..... well, sort of. :D

Here's a Work In Progress (yes, ANOTHER one  ) of Soo Line's (nee BN 7600) SD40B . It may give you some ideas.

Pick up another SD40-2 shell and do both 7500 and 7502.

Use the snoot shell to do the 7500

Use the NDB shell to do the 7502.

Use the third shell for the DB blister and doors (have fun cutting that out... yikes) for the 7502 and also for the doors in the nose of the 7500.

Not meaning to toot my horn or anything, but a high hood from Mark4Design may make doing the 7500 a little easier as well (you'll still need to add the doors etc )

    Thanks Doofus! [IMG]

Good idea re: the high hood body, but use the doors from any $2.25 Atlas modern EMD - GP40-2, etc. Much cheaper than any Kato option! [IMG]

How different are the SD35 DB's to the SD40-2's for the kitbash purpose? (I don't have a pair handy to check myself and the SD35 body could be a door donor, too.)
