I've got all the SP and T&NO Harriman's. What's next from these guys? Their stuff is more addictive than crack...
I have all the UP ones . How 'bout head end cars ? Stuff like this http://www.3rdrail.com/images/h-bmcar.jpg
That I could deal with...I'd love to drag a bunch of these around behind an IM Cab Forward or one of my MT-4's.
I imagine we'll see some head end cars in the not-to-distant future, with the success of the passenger cars and the fact that the resin ones go for big bucks on the secondary market. I hear a birdie in the distance going tweet tweet......
I'd love to see something that's actually correct for RI instead of just the "flavor", whatever that means. Jason
The head end cars are pretty much a given. But apparently they are not what's in the next run. The crystal ball is getting cloudy . . , cloudier . . . and out of the mists comes . . . a gorilla? No, it's a passenger car! I see an Eastern prototype but I also see Western fans jumping up and down excitedly as if it is something they want. I see the letters appearing . . . A . . . M . . . Whoops! crystal ball says "lo batt".
Well, the Harriman series included baggage and combine cars. Some actually made it into Daylight paint! I was actually disappointed in the All Day Lunch car. the scale reefer box did not include scale tuna sandwiches!
"What's next from Wheels Of Time?" Rumor has it that he's working on something that will go really well with the Kato PRR GG1...
Well being that the first GG1 will be a DLGE that still leaves the Harriman baggage in the running as in the link below . http://www.bcoolidge.com/PC%20Pix/GG1-4898-and-Shoreline-Express-Stamford-CT_10_69Edited.jpg Sometimes there were entire trains / sections with just baggage and RPO's .
While a "Harriman" might be chosen by someone to represent a PRR B60b (though I don't know why a person would, what with a good resin model being made by Hell Gate Models) it should be noted that no one said it was a head-end car...
First word AMtrak? Horizon cars maybe? Did they run in the west? I think I rode one from St Louis to Kansas City in 1991. Only other Eastern thing I can think of with 'AM' is New Haven AMerican Flyer coaches but I can't see western fans running to the hobby shop for them. Wait a minute, AMerican Freedom Train, no that's wishing for too much. I'm thinking passenger equipment because that seems to be WOT's specialty. I hate these guessing games, if you're not under threat of death couldn't you just tell us.:tb-biggrin:
So, only a few (western) railroads actually had these coaches? Hm, maybe that's why I couldn't find pictures of east coast Harriman coaches......
