I don't believe they had any SD45's in red. They were delivered in that new Burlington green/white scheme. I'm looking for my CB&Q pictorial as we speak
To my knowledge there were NO red CB&Q SD45's they were delivered in an experimental green black & white scheme. The paint was BN green and black with the white "hockey stick" slash on the side. The white was wider than what was used on BN passenger E & F units. The nose stripes were in a "Vee" pattern instead of the diagonal used by BN.
did the hockey stick go the same way on both sides, because the kato BN smoothsides have the hockey stick going different ways on each side of the car, they are going opposite, one side(seen side on layout) has the end curve of the stick on the right side of the car, and on the non seen side the stick ends on the left. just a wonderin...
I have wanted to do this on some kato N models but havent found any and if so they go realy high anywhere like $70 to $90!!! its hard to find them. What were the numbers on the units?
Every Q SD45 was delivered in the green/hockey stick scheme. There were no red SD45s on the Q. The hockey stick was the same on both sides, in that the curve was located at the front and it wrapped around the rear. Regards, Burlington John
