I'm looking for who has the best sound for a Kato GS4. I'm very particular about the GS4 sounds, so a generic whistle will simply not do. I also would like to have the air horn. Any suggestions?

If you are wanting a specific sound, then you I would suggest that you go "all the way" and get a sound decoder where you can load custom sounds. I believe that there is a German decoder where you can load your own.

I say this because you wouldn't have made this post if the EXACT sound wasn't VERY important to you. How would you feel about dropping almost $100 for a good sound decoder to only have the sound let you down? That would turn a good opportunity into a sour experience.

If I'm correct, then there are a couple places that you can get specific sound packages. I was thinking that I saw an ad in MR Mag a month ago or so....they may very well be in this issue.

Expect to pay a little more for a decoder that you can efficiently load your own sound package.

What decoders have down loadable sounds? I've seen a clip on youtube with a Lok sound GS4 that has the horn, but the whistle is all wrong.

I'm willing to pay the premium for the correct sounds.

I'm reasonably satisfied with the Soundtraxx Tsunami GS-4 whistle. It sounds remotely like the prototype from YouTube clips. Not quite loud enough for my taste and it controls the melody that has its own duration unless it is held for a longer time. Same melody just longer. And no short blasts if the horn sound is also enabled. But the short blasts are too short if enabled instead of the horn.

ESU sells a programmer for its LokSound decoders if you want custom sounds. See: http://www.dcctrain.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=1162

I don't have the LokProgrammer and know little about its operation or where you can find appropriate sounds. Asking your question on the DCC forum might find additional answers.

there is a guy whose nickname is "dcctrain". He is located here in Ohio. He's from Russia (Alexander is his name if I remember correctly) so he can be slightly difficult to understand, but his skills with european DCC configuration are un-matched. You might try giving him a call and asking his opinion. I have found him to be both very knowledgable and very nice. I would start there.
