Howdy, I generally work in Z, but wanted to do something a bit bigger and give my eyes a rest. This is the Accurail HO kit deconstructed a bit. I stressed the markings and used Tamaya weathering chalks for the rusty abused effect. I also installed the interior walls using Evergreen Styrene painted and weathered. The trucks are Kadee and they come from a kit bash I'm working on...had an extra set as I'm combining the 10' doors of a 50' kit with the shell of a 40' Box to make one of the Southern Pacific Re-builds for Plywood shipping. Cheers Joe MTL
Accurail makes a very nice kit. I definitely like the interior walls with the styrene. Clever, these Z scale guys!! (They bear considerable watching.)
Thanks. It was all done with Tamaya Weathering Chalks. I do a combination of dry rubs and brush application by using a little water to make a paste for thicker areas. Once you seal it with Flat Lacquer it's pretty much set. I started with the Accurail kit... Joe
Thanks for the kind words....I'm liking this Bubba Scale Stuff...so do my eyes. You guys in HO have it made...actually you have everything made for you...Z scalers have to do it themselves. That's ok to a point, but it sure is nice to be able to open a box and mess it up a little and have some fun! Deep Envy here. Cheers Joe
That looks good. Here's a link to one I did (HO). http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q186/forum-1/P1010047-1.jpg
