Wouldn't you know it? I finally have something to report and Tom is gone this week!! But he gave anyone permission to start a thread this week while he was in Maine, so I'll help myself.

Friday my Micromark table saw arrived. I bought the better one, along with a pile of accessories. There goes my economic stimulus check! I unpacked it all and admired it a while, but it's been too damn hot (100+ at work) in Southern California to do anything out in the garage. And I don't think firing up a table saw indoors is such a good idea - I worked in a plastics fabricating shop in high school so I know first hand about plastic chips and static electricity. I'm off work tomorrow, so I think I may mess around with it some in the morning, before it gets too hot.

So, since making sawdust was out, I dusted off my fleet of Metrolink cars and finished renumbering them. It has been a long while since I did the one side; took a few minutes to get back in the groove applying those teensy number decals. But it came back to me. I was delighted to discover that I had finished the numberboards on the cabcar, those are even teensier! Now all the need is a few coats of Microsol and I can spray them with dullcoat. Or get creative and try some weathering.

Did anyone else finish anything over the weekend?

We were in Waupaca all weekend for the Strawberry Festival show. The layout crew was down to six people, so we all had plenty of time to play and also to shop. I picked up a few items of rolling stock for my home layout and experimented a little with more layout photography.

I've finished the stock pens for Diamond Valley. Such a project "cried" for scratch building.

Wolfgang, that looks great. Did you use Code 40 for the siding, or just hide most of the rail web with "weeds"? Whichever, it really completes the scene. Your attention to detail is remarkable.

BTW, the cattle look like Texas Longhorns from the color and horn length. If so, the color of their horns is generally a splotchy light grey & white, like weathered bone.

I mostly did yard work, but was able to get a start on my rockwork for the trestle cut.
