I’m playing with the idea of building a new layout and I’m trying to work out some track details. I want a Double Crossover and a Reverse Loop up front for my 2 Main Lines, but this time I want to use a crossing so that I can enter a single loop from either direction. I was looking at photos on the Atlas Store and I noticed that the turnout slide extends out on each side. I’m wondering if I’ll have any clearance or operation problems with the following configuration and what configuration would you go with?
The long throwbar and ties are extended on both sides to give modelers the option of installing controls and details on either side of the switch. Snipping the side where you're not putting these details doesn't affect the operation of the switch.
Is there not a center hole where the slide is that is dead in the middle of the track? If not, drill a hole and put it there and eliminate the side slide issue.
