SAMRA Train Show, San Antonio Jan 26-27, 2008 - Pics

The San Antonio Model Railrod Association will have the 31st Annual Model Railroad Jamboree at the Live Oak Civic Center, 8101 Pat Booker Road on January 27 and 28. The hours are:
10:00 - 5:00 Saturday
10:00 - 4:00 Sunday

Two weekends to go.

 

Flash, will be there! Got the card in the mail several days ago, one for me, one for my father.

Too bad I'll miss the Plano show this weekend, due to the sleet/snow/ice possibility on Sunday, the only day I'm free, and the distance. :sad:

A 100+ mi. on IH35 in sleet/snow and ice didn't sound good to my dad! :shade: :shade: :shade:

 

Brings back memories of last year. We had a chance to come north on that weekend, and got a lot more than I had bargained for. The show itself was great, but I enjoyed even more that Fran and I got to meet Flash and his wife. He gave me a tour of the SAMRA building and layout, now that's impressive!! And we got to see Flash's own huge, well done, layout, and before the crowds from the layout tours arrived.

Thinking about the trip, I pulled up the photos on the computer and enjoyed viewing them again.

Isn't SAMRA great? I wish there was an Austin-area club like it!

Hopefully I can see Flash's layout this year!

 

Matthew and other interested parties: My layout is open Saturday, Jan. 27, from 3:00 until 8:00 pm. All welcome.

BTW, Ed M. and his family were the first layout tour visitors ever to see my layout.

 

This is it! Should see Matthew Roberts sometime this weekend. Will get a few pictures, I hope. I'm not in the market for buying, but maybe I will look some...a little...sort of...you know?

Great Show! Saw Flash Blackman!

Has to be one of the best shows I've been to, I have photos I'll load when I get home on Sunday. :angel:

 

Several of you have been requesting this. Matthew Roberts and I running trains at my layout open house.

A good time was had by all. Matthew and his Dad left here and did some railfanning, I think.

 

I think Flash needs a wall of pictures of guests who come visit his layout :thumbs_up:

Seriously, though, it's a great layout, inspiring, too. Never did get to railfan in SA, though we went back to the show and my dad bought $62 worth of stuff from some shop in town going out of business.

Ever have ops sessions, might come down to see it again if I ever get a driver's license

As usual,your layout just looks a treat!The ice rack is very impressive too.
