Ideas for a Helix top?

    Here is my problem guys.I have a helix and have started doing scenery around the edge but not sure what to do with the top of it.I would like to cover it up but dont want anything heavy in case I have to take it on and off.Any suggestions or has anyone already done this and have photos?Here is what I am dealing with...

    Actually your helix looks better than mine :) , but here is what I (plan to) do: I put a piece of plywood on top and build a town on it. Have also added some tunnels on the side to hide the circular trackage.

    Maybe a big Green umbrella with thin foam glued to it , then plant bushes , to shape change it . Once done dremel off the stem and disable the collapse mech .

    Logically the hillside would continue upward from the top layer trackage, perhaps ducking into a tunnel for the final half turn. I'd use extruded styrofoam to build the mountaintop "hat". Lightweight and easy to move.

    If the upper track layer is at eye level or above, the top could actually be open, allowing you to come up the "caldera" from the inside. This might be preferable if screenwire and plaster is your preferred medium.
