It was great to see the test shots of DI's 3-Unit 53' Well Car.My question are when are they going to be coming out to hobby shops and etc.

While we're asking when are the 3-Unit 57' Spines/Lo-Pac 2000 40' Well and the Short Stacks coming out.

Does anyone know or as DI said Or is DI going to keep everyone in the dark.

Why not call DI and asking Dave directly?

BTW he posted a tentative schedule here and on the Atlas Forum about two weeks ago.

    Call DI.

Calling DI doesn't help all they do is give you the run around.I need to know when these cars are coming out.Don't need a question with a question I need some answers.

I'm 100% greatful for DI post for the photos of new castings.I'm however not happy,I've asked for the release date of these cars.

These cars have been coming out for years.Everyone I ask says TBA,I'm tried of hearing TBA or I don't know.Theirs no use calling DI because they'll give a date that not the correct date.

I need the direct date thats all just the correct date.:tb-mad:

I seriously doubt anyone here knows exactly when DI is coming out with these cars.

I've been in the hobby long enough to have seen quite a few products announced, only to be released much later or in some cases not at all. The larger companies seem to be pretty much dead-on when it comes to product releases, while smaller companies seem to have a bit more difficulty. Doesn't mean they're dishonest, but stuff happens, and sometimes gets in front of good intentions.

Best thing I can tell you is to not get worked up over it - they'll get here when they get here.

Deluxe will come out with them when they come out with them. I get the distinct feeling that it is a pretty small operation, but I have several of their woodchip cars and they are all very nice, especially some of the more recent releases.

It will seem like forever and then suddenly they will be out. I would want them to take adequate time to get them right. It's not like they're releasing spare parts for dialysis machines or diabetes maintenance meds.

I waited for my CLC woodchip cars for nearly 9 months, but when they came in to the hobby shop they looked great, and the owner gave me an additional 15% off for pre-ordering so that was a nice surprise (I had thought he was going to want his usual sticker price).

Good luck, and welcome to Trainboard.

DI is small enough to fit it all in a 53' CSX container when Dave bought it and move it to Jersey about a year or two ago. DI Dave said the Maxi IV should be out by the end of the year in another tread.

They will get here when they get here.

    It is what it is.

Oh, I can be just as impatient as the next guy. It's just that years of experience with model railroad providers has taught me to wait in patience and celebrate when the product finally arrives.

I asked the great chief for patience "AND I WANT IT NOW!" :)

    Really?

I think you might want to back off a little bit.

Not that you bothered lifting a finger and going to their website, but here's what it says from the July Announcement order form:

"Guaranteed orders are due by September 12, 2008 for shipment 1st quarter 2009 except Maxi IV which will be shipped in September based on existing pre-orders."
On July 31st, you replied ON A POST FROM THE PRESIDENT OF DELUXE INNOVATIONS the following:
I'd like to thank Dave from DI for repling to my message.
So, you've been in direct communication with the PRESIDENT of the company but feel compelled to come on here less than two weeks later and be a JERK?

    Am I missing something?

In another post you also posted to, the following was posted regarding the spine cars:

"The GHQ 53' 5-unit spine car: We have the first FINAL sample of the B spine from GHQ. That means we can move on to the other 3 spines (there are 4 different spines in the 5-unit set.) GHQ tells me they can have the other 3 to us quickly but I am allowing 30 days for each. After that we send a few production sets to the factory and get a decoration and assembly quote. The bottom line is it will be 5 months minimum before they can be delivered but a more realistic estimate is 8+ months. We had expected to have it ready this year but the spines from GHQ have been more challenging than expected.

"The Triple-57 is progressing nicely. While we don't have any pre-production samples yet, the engineering of the spines is complete. We are working on the hitches now. There will be 2 different style, with both raised and retracted versions included with the car. Visit our website and look for an engineering diagram of the car."
They've announced, and if you follow DI you should have a pretty good idea when they'll be here. I'm not happy about the neverending story of spine cars but I don't continue to make multiple red-faced angry posts about it. Just one or two. :wink3:

Take a couple of chill pills and you'll get your stack cars soon enough. :pill::pill: In the meantime, Kato has the 53's, too if you are that impatient.

Tallboy, I guess I shouldn't assume you're new (like me) just because you don't have many posts. Just incase you are, what the other guys say is true about patience. This is a bad hobby to be in if you don't have lots of patience. That was once hard for me to swallow myself so I can relate. This hobby will teach you patience or it will break you. By break you I mean you will either go nutz or quit. No more angry emoticons, just :D

Good luck and welcome to TrainBoard!

Folks, before this one turns into a flame war between two members, each please take a step back, take in a deep breath and slowly exhale. It ain't worth getting so exercised about.

Worry about a runny paint job, water effects that do not dry, water effect that dry too fast, figuring out a way to make white decals without ALPS, eliminating all kinks in your track and faulty wiring on your road, getting ends of walls in kits to actually be 90* without any gaps, and about 900 other things.

Let's move on. These types of problems have been exhaustively discussed here and elsewhere for many years. I think most everyone realizes that getting a model produced involves many steps back and forth across the world, and that getting manufacturing "slots" in China and elsewhere can be very difficult when any sort of delay occurs.

I'm going to close this topic because we've been over it many times, and it's not really adding anything new. Experienced N-scalers have spoken well about their expectations (and disappointments) drawn from many years in the hobby.
