Got my December issue of Model Railroader yesterday in the mail, and started going thru it. In the middle of the magazine is an article on a layout I visited in Greeley, CO 3 years ago-it's in a 60-by 90-foot building, which also contains a fullsixe C&S wooden caboose (still railroad-worthy). It's the Greeley Freight Station Museum- over a quarter-mile of track, heights from 40" to 96", and depicting the line in southern Oregon.

I'm not affiliated with the museum in any way, but I heartily recommend a visit to this place. Back then, there wasn't much scenery, but apparently things have progressed greatly in 3 years.

Have not seen that issue as yet. Looks like another good excuse to visit my hobby shop.

Disclaimer: I am affiliated with the museum as one of the volunteers, and the photographer of the MR article. Yes, tremendous progress has been made since 2004. Even more construction photos are here.

It is quite a treat to run an 80 car train behind sound-equipped ABBA F7s over the 22.5 scale mile mainline.

    Wow!

    Bob,
many thanks for sharing the additional pictures. I just love the pictures with the benchwork still visible. That looks like a very sturdy and well thought-through foundation!

    Cheers
