Have they been delayed yet again? On the Atlas shipping schedule it showed the container as being shipped on 10-20-08. Now it shows that it will not be shipped until 12-15-08. Did pirates hi-jack the ship? They were originally due in July. It was bumped back till September then November. What gives? If they push them back a little more I can save some money and not have to buy them as I am modeling present day and these are getting long in the tooth.

As is normal with Atlas, they will deliver them when they are correct. We were told that a tooling issue required a delay.

I have seen the expected delivery date posted as 12/10/2008 on a few different websites. No complaints from me--gives me a few more days to dig some more change out of the sofa cushions :) Jamie

Ooops.... Delayed again! Now shipping on 12/29/08...

Is Microsoft involved in the development of these models???

And the container shipping date was listed as 12/15/2009 until that date arrived; then it changed to 12/29/2008! Oh well, I am just happy we are getting quality stuff (knock on wood) to choose from. I guess I'll pick up a few GP15-1 to tide me over :) Jamie

    Guys,
I don't think I ever saw a more mature handled thread. Congratulations. I met some people from Atlas and MT at my home during a NMRA Natl Convention layout tour, and they gave me a brief overview of tooling, manufacturing and distribution issues they face, and you guys have shown infinite understanding. I am humble before you with my impatience from time to time. Way to go.

I don't think so, Atlas does a very good job getting something correct before they release it. Better it be delayed, then delivered and not correct.

I agree! It's unusual to see this, but I suspect it's happened before - perhaps not on such an anticipated product...

And definitely better to get it right!

If they were you would have had them 9 months ago and be on at least your third set of upgraded handrails, tanks, trucks and motors, and the DCC version would have had upteen dozen security patches to date... :D

All the kinks should be worked out just fine by the time the wide cabs are shipping :)

The Atlas website says they are here as of 1-23. My poor wallet.

Mine just fell on the floor and tried to run away. I have 5 on reserve and have been expecting this, but now I have to face the music. When is my refund getting here?? Not soon enough.... ;)

Dang I don't know what shocked me more: the locos shipping from Atlas or the new website at M.B. woo woo woo. I thought I was typing the wrong URL! Jamie

Got my C&NW C40-8 on Tuesday. Looks and runs great. I got a chance to see other roadnames as well, and they are impressive.

At least Atlas is getting more information out to us, the customer. They are sharing container shipping dates which take about 1 month to get to distributors and on down the chain. We may get antsy waiting for our new toys, but it is easier knowing what is happening. Maybe Athearn should take a lesson from Atlas instead of just shoving the shipping date back on their website.
