Sorry yes it was celius. Did not mean to scare you! My sister is down in Katy and I look at Houston temps everyday now. Besides it is becoming one of my favorite places to railfan. Went out with Russel Straw and he showed me around the Rosenberg(?) area.
I'm planning on being there Saturday with the kids and maybe seeing a layout or two. We ought to plan a time place to meet up so we can put some names and faces together. I'd say around 1:00 somewhere of anyones choosing would be cool. They always have a video area there so maybe where the train videos play would be a good easy place (and it's also right by the snack bar).
I expect I'll be wearing a blue QR (Queensland Rail) hat if I can find it. Otherwise, I'll wear one for the Niles Canyon. I'll have one of my kids; she's nearly 6 foot, though, and should have her husband in tow. His first train show.
I am sure I will go, probably on Saturday so I can take in whatever layouts are on tour both days. It looks like I will have MIL-Soo-Cnw in tow which is okay by me! It is always a good show. For me, OKC isn't so much better that its worth a 3 hour drive each way, but sometimes you do get some different vendors up there...... FWIW, the Ft Worth show this weekend was a bit dissapointing. They are usually the week before OKC but had to move the date. I gathered that the crowds spent all the money they were going to spend at OKC. No new vendors, mostly the SOS, which was in direct contrast to last year. I'm up (or down) for meeting some Trainboard folks on Saturday at 1PM.
Jeff, That is SOO,MILW,CNW,,,jeez, get it right will ya. I thought the CHTT was going to available that weekend?, or was I mistaken??? The packers now have an offical losing season,, no way we can be above or at .500 More time for trains now. adios
The CHTT will only be on tour for the NMRA LSR show next June. I didn't want to cause any major traffic jams on DFW freeways in January......
The Plano show is very good. I never missed one when I lived in the DFW area. Last one I was at Wyatt, Rossford Yard and myself had a nice healthy lunch at Krystals in Addison on the way to Discount Model Trains. Lots of N Scale stuff there when I was going. Rich
Ok,, I stand corrected,, What about the,," I have n scale over at blah blah,,come over and check it out....'' I had krystals this past weekend in Killeen,, during xmas shopping. adios
1 o'clock sounds good and somewhere around the snack bar is a good central location. That still gives me a couple of hours to get from the show to the train room for the layout tours.
THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND! * BUMP! * I'll be there both days - just look for me and my 4,000 decals at one of the tables ...which could be the 1:00 meeting place? arghh: ARGH!
I will not be able to make it but will send my representative "Mr. Blinky" in my place. Just drop by the Richmond Control booth and ask for him.
I'll definitely be there on Saturday. I always look forward to this show - I think it's the best in the DFW area, especially for kids. Usually a good variety of layouts. So has anyone figured out where Trainboard folks are going to meet?
Snack bar was mentioned in a few earlier posts... I've also volunteered my table (not sure where that is quite yet) Weather forecast is 60F highs for both days, so it may be a good showing -
Should be great - let me know where your table is going to be. I've got to stop by and check out your decals. With the nice weather I'm sure there will be a good turnout.:thumbs_up::thumbs_up:
Hello all, Our club will be at the show. North Texas T-Trak. We will be in the hall between the two big rooms. Come on by and say 'Hi' to the extremely bald guy there. (that'd be me.) I 'd be interested in meeting you and saying 'Hi' back. I'll probably saunter down to the snack bar @ 1p saturday and see if I can bird-dog some of you guys out. Trey Lewisville, TX
Nice! It looks like about 10 or so potential folks will be there from TB I'll be the one with the extremely military haricut Still forecasting a decent day (no rain) so it should be a good turnout! - Sat 59°F | 38°F Sun 58°F | 34°F -
I've got one of those extreme military haircuts too. I'll definitely keep a lookout for y'all - see you at the snack bar.
