    Quick question.
I read an article in the Nov/Dec. N Scale Railroading article that intrigued me.
It was on switch machine mounting.
    My question(s):
    Where do you buy
    1. 1/16 tubing
    2. music wire
    3. wheel collar
    4. snap link
    5. threaded rod?????
I'm sorry if I offended any modelers out there with my naivity, but since I don't have a LHS (except for a 2 hour drive) I wanted to buy on line.
    Thanks to all that reply!

One last thing: What is a ball link and again where would you get one?
Thanks for answering a "new guy's" question!

    Jeff-

    Ask away. Don't worry.

I can't help with it all. As I've not seen the article. BTW- The nearest place that passes for my "LHS" is a five hour round trip. So don't feel alone. The next closest is eleven hours around!

Anyhow, do you have a hardware store anywhere close by? Plumbing supply? Or an auto parts? You should be able to find 1/16th tubing at any of these places.

Threaded rod at those same suppliers.

Not all of your answers. But a start for you.

    :D

Those are mostly if not all radio control aircraft parts.

The ball link is the thing on the left of the completed linkage arm in the article's first photo, a flexible joint kinda sorta, though used a bit differently in that project.

An online radio-controlled (R/C) model airplane supplier should have it all, and more.
