    Find a friend with a micro lathe and make one. Looks like a great tool!

    Is there anyway to tune N Scale trucks? I am converting my Con-Cor RR heavyweight passenger cars over to Micro Trains #1018 truck with 36' FVWS. I trimmed all the brakes shoes so the 36' FVWs don't rub. But I need to tune the truck more because they don't roll as free as the trucks that came with the cars. I suspect the reason the OME trucks worked so well was because the wheels were too loose fitting in the trucks. When I would pick up a car some wheels would fall out of the OEM trucks which were Micro Train's btw. The Micro Train truck #1018 seem to be a little too tight for the center wheels as these are six wheel trucks.

    Bob;
    MT trucks of all variants can at times be a little warped. Either too tight or too loose. Try a little digitary persuasion, just keep flexing in the direction you want until you get the fit you want.

    Cheers,
    Bill

    Hmmm, thanks Bill, I guess I will give that a try. Sure would like to see someone manufacture a reamer like the one in HO Scale that Micro-Mark offers.

    One could possibly take two drill bits with the proper point size.. cut them to the length of half of an axle, then take heat shrink or electrical tape and join them butt to butt..

    Home made truck tuner.

    Hey, it could work.. :)
