well these are kind of old though, they have been done for almost a year now. these were taken at galeburg railroad days last year by bill selleck
Never thought of adding a fuel tender, but I've got an SD 60M in Eagle colors, so I can really appreciate the freelance motive.
hey mitch... post a picture of these beasts pulling those 8 axle 200,00 gallon tank cars you have!! what a sight!!!
Mitch, Did MOPAC evey have any SD40-2's???? I have two BNSF Heritage SD40's that are screaming for a repaint lol
I can answer that- MP did indeed have SD40-2s, both with and without dynamic brakes. The non--DB diesels were in the 3000 series, while the ones with DB were in the 6000 series . When MP was absorbed by UP, the 3000s were repainted and relettered into the 4000 series (UP colors and all). I shot a lot of MP power at Van Buren, AR and Kansas City, MO, and prefer their blue over the yellow & gray any day.
yep they had them both, BUT the sd40-2's with dynamic were the later phase with the newer style grilles and also wheel handbrake instead of the lever. but i just so happen to have a couple of them made from parts of a snoot and then the regular sd40-2. i will get some shots here soon. as for my fleet, you can never have enough mopac! i now have the entire roster of gp38's the mopac had, but that is only 6!!!!
colonel give me a little time, ednsfan is giving me a box of stuff this weekend to do. mostly alan curtis wells and spines. then some engines are on the list, i will let you know when i can do them, won't be long.
And I though Ed was going to build them himself </font>[/QUOTE]BUILD, yes... paint??? no clue my friend who drives on the WRONG side of the road I can't lay a piece of flextrack straight to save my life and that compressor... well it's good for filling the tires on the kids' bicycles and the mower!!! But to apply paint to a model?? fuggetaboutit
I model HO, but I built 5 GP35Ms, two in MP colors and three in Kiamichi paint. Pretty neat conversion, really- easier when you start with a RPP shell. Wonder if anyone has built 'em in N scale........
so you want gp35m's well i will get pics of them also frisco! i got a couple done with the cei buzzsaw on em. [ 07. March 2003, 15:25: Message edited by: Mopac3092 ]
