Glad you and the family are OK. I feel for you man. My Aunt and Uncle are from Gulfport, MS, two blocks from the water. They can't go home either and will stay at my Dad's until they can return, but like you they are alive and safe.

Before you decide on getting out of N Scale or selling your rolling stock, I have a proposition. Lent/Lease. I should have a layout up later this year. I'll lease some of your rolling stock, document their runs and schedule return shipment when you’re ready to begin again. I'll even pay freight both ways. Just a crazy idea, but think about it before you make your final decision.

Some of the other forum members might be crazy enough to join in and document your rolling stock runs on their layouts too.

BikerDad on another forum even christened this operation - DKFX "DeeRayle Kis Leasing Exchange".

When you’re ready to start operations again, you'll get your rolling stock back with pictures of it running on other railroads/branch lines. It would be fun for those of us participating and make a great ending for this unfortunate event.

    Think about it.

    Thom

Several years ago Model Railroader Magazine took a locomotive ( painted up in Hiawatha colors) and photographed it on many different layouts. both HO and N. Sort of a nationwide fan trip ala the Freedom Train did.
this might be an idea if it doesn't get way out of hand. Seeing a private roadname on some other layout. Would have to be alist of those who were interested set up But it could be done.

    Forgive me please-
For bringing up a negative note but I was involved in preparing the original "Atlas Forum Cars" and launched them on their 'tour' of interested N-scale forum members.
There were three prepared. One for the U.S., one for Canada and one for "Europe".
They started on their way just fine and made some rounds but eventually we never heard from any of the cars again? Not until in just the past month the U.S. car surfaced from a member who apologized for the delay. No hard feelings against him at all since "life happens" and actually he's the only one who stepped forward and accounted for any of the cars?
Those cars were privately funded (me) but that's not even the point. Many folks who looked forward to seeing the car, having it run on their home rails and then taking a picture to share the experience, never even had that chance.
I think no less of anyone involved, not at all. I only bring this up to share past experience.
So if you think that things could be different or if you're okay with the train reaching whoever it does and can accept it for that- well, it's still great fun!

I actually just got 5 containers from Kiz. I'll post pictures of my stack train from SNFF so, he (and all of you) can see them.

I have one of the limited edition "Atlas Forum" cars I will donate if you want to restart that, WCD. I don't want it back, as I have gotten rid of virtually all my "fantasy" cars.

I think it sounds like a cool idea, if Kis wants to. I'd kinda like to get in on something like that, if Dee's forgiven me for calling her (him?) a monkey!
