    Me too!

I confess I wasn't "thinking the same thing"...but I am now! It'd also give me a reason to buy an SD40-2 when they finally come out.

Sorry for that, but the general look doesn't appeal me. If one hopes a full carbody to match a MTL/AZL chassis, I guess a FP7/FP9 should be a better option (only 1 1/2 scale foot, ie 2 millimeters difference between a GP35 and a FP7/9, meaning that the general shape of a FP-Unit riding a Geep's chassis should be OK).

Are chassis length and wheelbase between both types matching?

SD40 is 65'9", SD70M is 73'4", so obviously not. The SD40-2 would be closer at 68'10", but still ~0.2" would need to be cut off to be accurate.

No problem, Kurt. Glad to help out another GN fan.

There are several GN F45s on the fallen-flags site - I linked to the best of the lot.
