I finally got on a computer out here at the N Scale Convention in Portland, Oregon. Wish I had a way to upload some of the photos I have been taking but they will have to wait. Here is one of my Sunbeam that I took a week or so ago. Still a little dark as the real sun had not come up yet.
Thanks. Yes that is an out door shot. I have a small diorama that I haul out and set up where I can find a good uncluttered background. It was early morning, right before sunrise.
Time to start doing more scenery. See ya. Larry http://s527.photobucket.com/albums/cc354/ClinchValley/
been working on my "dogeared & broken spine rr" n scale switching layout benchwork (will post picts soon!) family vamoosed to japan to visit relatives (& found an n-gauge cafe!), so i moved my 1'x4' to the fam room to get picts from a different angle: Tonight working on the coal mine that will be at the far end right. Darkened the alcohol/paint bath for the basswood & so it looks a bit better than the other scratchbuilt wood structures. Also learned to build the backdrops higher! (at least for photo purposes). thanks for all the groovy photos people are posting. very inspiring! cheers! --mark
Great images, all. I had a weird vision recently...maybe it was a dream. It was hot that day, and I think I slipped into a slumber after lunch in the shade. I was in the highlands above Seneca Falls and was near a new right of way. I saw two strange locomotives that issued no smoke, and they rumbled instead of chuffed and hissed. They were pretty in a way.
Excellent photos guys. I have been finishing off a 5-year-old loco project this week by adding a sound decoder and weathering to a BN GP39-E Jon
A Shot from The N Scale Collectors Convention in Portland This is picture of the upcoming Kato Model; NY Central Jet Powered RDC on Steriods. Nicknamed "The Black Beetle" It was on Display running perfectly as we've come to expect from Kato with DCC & Sound. Neat little unit trick the way the Jet engines lite up as the engine Rev up. Pretty Cool See for your selves. Comes out this Sept by the way.
Hey guys great photos, I wish I had stuff to contribute! Oh well, guess I'll have to get working on the layout!
Haven't done anything on the layout for a couple of months but I did finish 10 coal hoppers I got from a buddy up in Maine. Started them two months ago and just finished decaling them last week, need some weathering now.
rocks Thanks oldscout, I used washes of woodland scenics slate gray as a base coat followed by washes of stone gray and burnt umber. I also dry brushed the stone gray and burnt umber after everything dryed. Over the last couple of years the colors have faded out some and they look better in person than in the photo. Here's a couple more photos for you.
I had a lot of help from the forums, but I got my MET white chevron decals made for me from photos and artwork. Wow, those ALPS printers are something! Next up, tying it down on the flatcar...
Weekend update; CMRRA Club layout started on the street details, painted crosswalks and curbing, power poles are going up, and some sod is down.
A few familar faces carshop is in the mains should be complete this week testing has begun more next week
