...no, I'm not selling any of my GN, but I never see any listed for sale in the
"Trainboard extra" section, or "For Sale' area. How come? There seems like ALOT of N-scale floating around in there, the Trainboard Auctions and all. The only Z listed is mostly services. I'm done with Epay, and the occasional stuff I do get now, is either full-retail from the local hobby shops, or my inside guy, Loren who is great, but alot of times, I look for older M-T stuff. Just curious.

not a board lister, but a great discounter just closed his doors, zscalemodeltrains in houston shut his website down yesterday "to pursue other interests" tis not a great time to be a seller or reseller. and of course buyers options are dwindling.....

Speaking of older MT stuff, I'm looking for a CP F7 loco. I know they`re out of production, but I can`t find one anywhere. Does anyone know where I might find one, or is there somebody out there who would part with one, or who could re-paint a shell? Tall order, I'm sure!

Dizzyland is being sold, but to who....

I have a prospective buyer for Dizzyland, which is good. But this person is not a model train person, which is unfortunate. I would much rather this gem go to someone who would take good care of her, keep her maintained well, and enjoy the train as well as the animated rides. This person saw it at NTS and only because a friend dragged her along. According to the friend this person doesn't even like trains but decided she just had to have the cute little amusement park. Is there, by any remote chance, anyone out there that is interested in it and has more hobby bucks than the average modeler??? Only very serious and realistic offers will be considered. If its on the west coast it can be hand delivered (which is the plan for the current customer).

    CP F7

Yep that's it, have a look here:
    Micro-Trains Z Scale GP-35

I've got the same problem as you; the F7 is the ONLY loco/car that's missing in my canadian collection....
Some time ago I found one at a LHS in great britain, for about 183$ (list price would have been 111.85$ :pbaffled:

and about half a year ago one was on epay (kept bidding up to 150 bucks; it went for 190 or so... :parghh:

all retailers who write that they would have it, are not up to date if asked....

the only one who has definitely one is this shop in germany:
Startseite von Sammler-Service - Modelleisenbahnen - Model Railroading but in a desktop set of 239€ :pmad:

we would have to wait for a re-release by mtl...

There have been several websites created just to give z scalers the possibility to add their sales beside ebay (not to pay for). but I don't know if any of those sites have survived...
Personally I am a member of the yahoogroup Zgauge (z buy and sell) but as there aren't too many members, I think the idea of placing the for-sale ads on trainboard has to be committed as a next step....

    best wishes from SwitZerland, Daniel

someone could paint all of that fairlyl easily. the tricky part would be the beaver logo. does anyone have this in a scale that would be close to fitting?

    those were beautiful locomotives.

I've got the Z Loco A & B set and the N scale decal set for that loco and the Beaver Logo is way to big on the decal set. Also the MT Loco has 2 headlites, the actual CP Loco only had one so if you filled in the one headlite and could find a smaller Beaver Logo you could do it. The block lettering from the N Scale decal set could be made to fit the loco, just have to crop the letters tighter together, the script lettering is much too large for a Z loco.

For the herald look for a CP steam engine decal set for CP as the logo that goes on the side of hte cab below the window is the right size. For the script look for a box car set with script which will suit the MTL F unit.

    cheers

I am thinking maybe we could have a z scale fleamarket every month. If you are like me, you are not going to check out the Marketplace in this forum. , so what do you think. I may have clear it with Charlie first.

    John, Charlie,

I'm up for that. Any thing to keep from selling on feeBay. I have a few items I've been holding off on listing. Actually... I would prefer to trade or swap, instead of selling.

I have lots of Z scale I want to sell also, but don't want to necessarily put it on ebay.

Maybe just make a master list and say "come and get it boys and girls" ?

Maybe we could do what some other lists do and allow FS (Forsale) postings on 15th and last day of the month. Sure better than feebay thats for sure.

Figures...I took these on Tuesday afternoon about 30 seconds from my office. I'd love to repaint a GP9 in those colors as well.

is that 3084 a GP39 or 40? since there is no beaver on the nose -- that wouldn't be all that hard to paint. i have some old northeast decals in that scheme that probably could be made to work. that grey and maroon with yellow is just gorgeous. i looked all through the microscale decals at Caboose in denver, but didn't see any sets with the beaver/shield except for N scale F unit. the F unit set would look nice, but the beaver would be 25% too big.

say whatever happened to the Royal Hudson? i don't see pictures of it running anymore. what a gorgeous steam engine THAT was!
