Central Valley had a pre-production sample of a new N-Scale through truss bridge at the Northern Pacific Historical Association annual meeting in White Bear Lake, MN. It will be available in kit form and made from injection moulded styrene similar to their HO products. This is not an exact match to their HO version in that this is based on a Northern Pacific prototype. I just about wet my pants when I saw this because I have been thinking about trying to acquire the old Overland Brass model at $300+ a pop, so at under $30 MSRP I will be able to do the four span bridge at Paradise, Montana for $120! The production kit will have more details than the sample and should be available in 60-90 days according to the rep.
Very happy about this. It is very close to an ATSF bridge in Canyoncito NM that I've always wanted to model. Sweet.
That's great news, I guess I can put aside my major kitbash on the Kato thru truss that I've been working on - had planned to build a near enough replica to the Buena Vista Co. Usually a kit comes out just after a major scratchbuild / kitbasj project not before!! If it's anything like the standard of CV's HO stuff, we should be excited. I agree with you OC engineer, patience sometimes does pay off
Yep, the Murphy law is always present! I've see the Horrible Oversize counterpart and are awesome..... What I wonder is .... as this is a kit, no way to have a double track add-on? Not so far from my prototype:: :~) Enzo Fortuna
I've built the RLS warren Truss laser bridge. But I'm looking forward to this kit and at a very affordable price. See ya Ron
Pretty bridge, but they need to take a series of penicillin shots to cure themselves of aitchoitis. They will find that we N Scalers don't want to root around in a web site full of over-sized HO junk to find one N scale item. Ignore this warning at your peril! :ru-tongue:
YES indeed It will go good on my ICG Sparta District Bridge scene to.Can't wait to get them to.Thanks for the great news. Blane Kessler ICG Sparta Distrct
Very cool! This looks very similar to one of my favorite bridges on the ex-SP route north of Dunsmuir, CA. I was hoping to see someone come out with a bridge to use and it's a real bonus that it's so inexpensive!
