    so I am in San antonio visiting for the next 2 weeks, is their any good shops or must sees while I am here?

    Don't know much about models, but you'll want to get over to the "Sunset Station" as that is the restored SP depot on the main line. Good spot for railfanning, and they have a restored SP 2-8-2 on the site as well.
