    Hi,

Do know what's going with Wig-Wag store? I have been calling them and nothing but answering machine. I know the owner is sick, but still they used to answer their phone. It has been a week since there is no answer and no reply on email either. Do they take this time of the hear off?

    Thanks.

    Mo

I emailed a question last week and the reply took a couple of days - He indicated he was in the hospital but doing his best to respond to inquiries and they are fullfilling orders. I don't know any details of his illness or expected duration of stay - - but figure a few prayers from fellow hobbyists couldn't hurt.

Read their web site page. http://www.wig-wag-trains.com/Newspages/NewsPage.htm
It should explain everything. I don,t think where George is staying in California has a good signal for his wireless internet service. website says they should be leaving Ca in the next few days. I,m sure they are doing the best they can under the circumstances .Appears to be backed up on the emails also. I,m sure he'll be glad to get home and when he's 100%, back to business.

Wig-Wag's site has been very forthright about George's illness, the progression of his treatment, and their backlog. I believe things will settle down once George gets back to Albuquerque.

I am NOT saying the original poster is implying this, but I have had some off line discussions where folks speak of abandoning George because of his temporary inability to service their train habit. Seems to me that him getting better is more important than me getting trains.

Of course, to be really honest with myself, the Trainworx Hi Cubes that I had to wait about a week longer than most for really weren't worth the wait......No big whup, and as long as its 100 degrees in my garage, its not like they are going to see my mainline.

Get better George. I'll be waiting for ya!

In addition to what's been said already I believe they made a post on their site about being short staffed about 2 people in addition to his treatment.

Pretty sure that's stated on the site somewhere...it's not like I know any of them personally or have inside information.

Either way best wishes to George and his homecoming...

I don,t mind the extra wait either. I,m in construction so my business has dropped off for now. I don,t buy as much as I used to but I try to buy or pre-order as much as I can afford to show support.

Although I was unaware that George was in hospital as I emailed him directly with an enquiry before checking the announcement on the WigWag website, I still received a reply via his wireless internet connection from his hospital bed.

That to me is dedicated customer service

It certainly put everything in perspective and reminded me that if we don't have a our health we certainly can't enjoy our hobby

Get well soon George, my order will wait until you're 100% well again

As if things aren't bad enough now there are 2 or 3 forest fires in the area and i,m sure the smoke isn,t helping much. Plus it's supposed to be HOT today. Well George, remember when you posted , "we don,t know what else the good lord has in store for us?" Don,t worry buddy, your going home in a couple days! Remember, you have my number if you need me.

Thought I would throw my 2 cents worth in here. As someone that has had a long term illness I can state that even with good health insurance, costs can build up quickly - you can be shocked by the amount your co-pay can end up being for monthly doses of drugs. I think it would be a very good thing to consider supporting Wig-Wag by ordering more from him. I hope we can get a better indication of a good time to order - I intend to. I don't want to overload George and staff though...

    Moshken,

Humm, you didn't come back to participate in this discussion. Just as I thought.

I'm not sure what to call this but I have to wonder. If you is stirring the pot and having some fun..well this might not be the best topic to pick on right now. If you just want to start a thread...I don't really mind. But, to start something and not come back...that ain't nice. We'd like to hear back from you from time to time.

Oh, and by the way. Wig Wags website has a full explanation as to why the phones aren't being answered, as readily as before. You need to do your homework.

I ain't your daddy or momma. You're on your own out here.

Have fun but choose the topic well!

George is on "Hospital Time". this is like NFL or NBA time. Things happen on their schedule, not yours. That said, I believe he is in transit back to ABQ. It may take a few days to get up to speed.

George is one of the best and most hard working dealers in the business. For him to keep going during his treatment is a testament to his fortitude.

We should all support him. He will catch up.

All the best to George and family.

George posted today that he had some tire trouble - nails in his tires in the hospital parking lot that were a lot of trouble to fix given he gets tired.

But, as an optimist, he and Deb also look at it as a good thing that they found them before driving across the desert home to ABQ.

Have a good trip George and take the roads that follow the tracks!

All I can say is that service from George has been exemplary, even during his treatment. Here's an example. Last week I got two of the new Walthers 2-8-8-2's. I put them both on my layout to break in, and after about two hours of run time, one of them died. So I packed it up and got it ready to send to Walthers for service, but realized I had misplaced my sales receipt from George. E-mailed him Friday evening (about 6:00 CST) to inquire about getting a copy of my sales receipt; got almost an immediate reply and about an hour later Deb e-mailed me with a new copy of my sales slip so I could send my dead engine back on Saturday. This all happened Friday NIGHT - I couldn't believe it . . . Needless to say, I'll be buying more stuff from George.

    I have two recommendations.

    1. There are many other LHS that one can contact and get a answer on the first ring but I assure that you will not get what you get from WigWag. Hence the numerous call. The fact is a close knit family business is tending to their one of their own and Rightfully so. That has priority over anyone's hobby in my book.

Just a note I place an order while George was there (The City of Hope) and I received that order a few weeks later. So understand if he can he will if he doesn't there is a reason for it..

    2. Close this threat in that it has no value and causes one the ponder about humanity.

The faster this thread is closed the faster we can move down the track of life.

Hiya. As a long-time member and supporter of TrainBoard but infrequent poster, I'll have to say that I'm very disappointed in this member's response to the thread started by MoshKen.

    "Moshken,

I see nothing in MoshKen's post to warrant this type of mean response! If I were him, I probably wouldn't reply either. I'd be looking for another forum to join. Regards,

Wig Wag & George and his staff have always done an excellent job, and even during his ordeal. I applaud his continued efforts, will continue to use his Services.
And above all wish George and his family all the BEST.

I am closing this thread. George and Debra have been forthright about his illness on Wig-Wag's site, and I think that should be the best site for further news. Speculation here on Trainboard is not in their best interests, nor in our best interests.

I feel I should explain why I am closing this thread. From Wig-Wag's site, I've learned that he has been stricken by an olfactory neuroblastoma. From research I've learned that this is a rare cancer, and potentially a very dangerous one. The City of Hope hospital is one of the nation's best cancer treatment centers. So we know these facts, and should not speculate any further.

It is with great regret that I close this thread. If you'd like to send George a message, I'd suggest you private message (PM) him via Trainboard's private message facility, or PM me, and I'll forward it to him.
