I received a R and L turnout from woo woo woo woo woo woo yesterday. I like the little tab Atlas supplies to wire power to the frog. On Peco turnouts I solder a feed wire to the jumpers at the frog.

I will be interested in seeing how these turnouts perform.

They have an isolated frog that might make derailment short circuits less likely. They have small radii but are longer overall than Peco turnouts. This complicates the decision to use one in place of the other in any situation. I suspect the longer turnout will help guide trucks through the turnout more reliably.

Now I just have to figure out which turnouts on my layout are candidates for replacing a Peco with the Atlas in order to evaluate their installed performance.

I have been waiting for them as well since they were first announced - even had two of each on pre-order which I regretfully cancelled - and decided to grab 2 each left and right custom 22"/18" from the seller on eBay. As you may have guessed, the word came two days after I received the custom turnouts that Atlas were shipping. It figures!

Regardless, the 3 of those excellent customs are installed and I'm waiting on the lone Atlas LH curved I reordered to arrive so I can lay out the yard throat.

Got my order of them today. 2 left and 2 right. Hooked them into some code 55 sectional track and fired it up. All I can say is WOW! Ran both 4 axle and 6 axle power through them both ways with short trains and didn't even hear a click. Power ran through smoothly even without the frog being wired. No derailments at all, not even a bounce of a wheelset.

Nice job on these Atlas. I think they were worth the wait.

Just out of curiosity, how long do reserve orders last?
I’ve had about 10 ordered on reserve for a couple of years now and I still want them, but I haven’t heard anything. I can’t remember now, but I think I might have gotten a new credit card since then.
I can’t find any instock anywhere. :pfrown:
