Getting ready to install LEDs into an Athearn BB F7. Any recommendations or suggestions on how to mount the LEDs? Thanks.
Sounds like an interesting project. I would suggest mouting the leds to the shell since there are no extra weights over the frame on the BB F7. You may need to build something out of styrene. You may want to consider making it a semi-permanent mount since you may need to change the led at some point. I hope that this helps.
Are going to use two or one light? If one insulate the stock light bracket and mount the LED on it as close to the light lens as the shell will allow. Using shrink wrap or tape you can wrap the leads around the bracket, mount one lead to the fram and the other to the top of the motor. If you need pictures I'll send them or post them.
