As I dilengently work on the shelf layout for the Winter Party in progress. I have had to do a few prep projects in my work area which is in the next room. The other night while working in the work area - I could hear the 'little man' at the layout recreating some sort of adventure. An hour later he went off to do something else. When I looked at my layout I spotted this - I cannot explain what was going on. So todays question....do any of you have the same sort of thing occur with their layouts when you are not around ? The 'little man' is very respectful of the trains and its acruments. So I was wondering if you experience the same play value with your trains in addition to what would 'normally' go on whilst the cat's away. Discuss...
Not quite the same, I went out to the train building one night finding my wife and grandsons having train vs car crashes. Gary
My layout rearranger is my 4-year-old granddaughter who loves Grandpa's trains. I'm about ready to start teaching her the art of model railroading; she seems quite interested in projects other than running trains. Her brother, now 8, was a model dude but he's now into computer games -- and I can't beat him! The granddaughter always wants to watch me build a model or lay some track for my N scale Midwest shortline. Her little hands usually don't intrude when we're together, but I figured out that she would move a box car or turn a building around when I wasn't looking as we left my office/trainroom.
Well, speaking of 'the cat', I have an 11 year old Maine Coon female named Spooky who has been sneaking off with cabeese everytime I have one on my project (kitchen) table. She'll ignore any other project I'm working on, but show her a caboose and the little dear goes into spasms of ecstasy. She's been doing this since she was a kitten, so it's just something I've learned to put up with, LOL! Tom
