I'm having trouble findig kits for B&O cabese, spec. I-! and (forgive the brain issues) the similar class with the slant side cupolas. I'm alsolooking for kits of the various wagon-top crummies. Any ideas? Apparently my search-fu is weak these days....

Welcome aboard CJ; I not aware of any B & O caboose kits however there are lots of caboose kits out there that might fill your needs. Here is one site that specializes in nice laser kits and they have a few different caboose kits

I heard something about Fox Valley Models planning a B&O I-1 wood kit - don't know if they actually made any of these yet; JnJ makes a nice I-12 Wagon Top resin kit.

I did a quick Google search for ho b&o caboose and found a few on ebay. Not sure if those are what you want. No idea what a slant side cupola is like.
Do a search for ho caboose also or ho scale caboose

Try the B&O RR Historical Society, http://www.borhs.org/ , look in the Company Store, they usually have some craftsman level kits for sale, (member discount applies).

There I go again - posting N scale info on the HO forum! I have a couple nice resin kits (really are HO) made by Pacific Mountain Scale Shops which can be built as an I-5C or I-5D. Then there is the old Silver Streak B&O caboose kit. I don't think either of these are being made currently...

I take it youare a dealer? I'ld be interested on the I-5 kit. The C & D versions are the wagontops built on older frames right?

I built 3 of the silver streak kits for my grandfather a number of years ago (just couldn't rember who made the ki), I would love to get my hands on a couple of those too if anyone knows where to find any.

No, I'm not a dealer. I have two of the Pacific Mountain Scale Shops I-5 kits. My dad and I bought them at the same time, and we both started building the kits a few years back (in 2002 I think). My dad passed away in 2003, and I still haven't finished either kit.
Both the I-5C and D versions have a center cupola; both were wood with steel ends. The I-5A and B were converted from cupola cabooses to wagon-tops.

I hadn't thought about much, but I wonder why there aren't any B&O cabooses out there either ready-to-roll or in kit form?

The Pacific Mountain Shops kits have dried up as far as I know. Looking in the B&OHS company store, there are I-5 and I-17 kits still listed but when gone, probably won't be replaced. Not sure if they are even still in stock. The list is not a realtime inventory.

    32001 Caboose, I-5, Original, toolbox, archbars Slanted Cupola PMHK-01 1924-29 46.00
32017 Caboose, I-17 (PMHK-13) As Delivered 1954-56 Wagon Top Resin Kit With Wood Window Frames, Trucks 56.00
32019 Caboose, I-17/17a (PMHK-15) Resin Kit Wagon Top As Modified by B&O and Used Up To First Pool 56.00

WrightTrak has been posting on the B&O Yahoo group and may have aquired the molds from Pacific Mountain. I can't remember as I am an N-scaler so I don't pay as close attention to the HO announcements.
