this is just how my roster is paired as of now

a P2K GP30 mu'ed to an athearn bluebox U23B. The U23B should be in Bluebonnet instead of pinstripe soon. The U23B is a dummy since the GP30 can pull its own and then some. the GP30 has some detail parts coming to make it a GP30U.

my Athearn RTR GP35 and another athearn U23B. The GP35 has some rooftop detail parts coming. the U23B is done.

Note: the above 2 arrangements with the dummy units may change when my Brass U25B shows up and i assign one of the 2 (or both) to run with the brass unit.

Good ol' Trusty. An athearn Bluebox F45 and a custom Bluebox SD40-2. both have no more work to be done except a possible future DCC installation. Eventually this set might be joined by the 2 dummys in the next picture when my Kato SD45 comes out of the shops.

An athearn Bluebox F45 dummy and a U33C dummy. the U33C is purely fictional as its an SP prototype. I'm going to file off the roof bulges on the top of the cab and reposition the lights. the U33C will be getting re-powered soon as well to return it to active service. the U33C just needs bluebonnet paint

as the BN loco once said "Hustle Muscle". This pair of P2K's has power to spare and THEN some. The GP9 is going to work its way into Santa Fe bluebonnet. the GP30 is going from pinstripe to Bluebonnet. Both are getting appropriate Santa Fe Details. the 30 is becoming a GP30U like the other and the GP9 is going to be heavily rebuilt but retain its high hood.

not mine but on loan by another club member. I have a pair of shells that will snap down on a single SW drivetrain from athearn. one is a SW1200, the other an SW8. I also have another SW8 from Proto thats in primer that should be going into Santa Fe as soon as i find the parts. all of these will go into warbonnet for switching

these things need work. its an AB set of Athearn Genesis F3's. I had them repainted awhile back but no need for them in BN. I need a new windshield and wipers for the A unit and a new window set for the B unit. These are going into the last phase the F units wore before being converted to CF7's. I have one athearn Bluebox F7B and F7A at home that will join these 2 in a consist. making an ABBA lashup of fright power.

thats all I have pictures of for now.

Future re-assignments will come when the Kato SD45 or the brass U25B (whichever is first) gets finished. I have one GP38-2 going into santa fe as we speak. and pair of GP38's also going into santa fe. I would like to keep the 2 GP38's from atlas together so there either going to go behind the GP35 or the GP30. the GP38-2 from athearn will go behind the unit that doesn't go with the 35's. More then likeley because they run about the same speed as the protos the atlas will end up with the GP30. I also have an SD45B being built off an old kato drive train and a railpower shell. So we'll see how that turns out.

    Great set!

The silo-like object in the background of the last shot must be the fuel tank - for the engineers! :D

Do you know if a BlueBox GP38-2 shell will work on the R-T-R or Genesis Chassis for a GP38? I am bidding on a decent custom painted GP38-2 bluebox shell and would rather mate this shell with a new RTR or Genesis chassis than hunt down a BB chassis and then install DCC / Sound. I know DCC / Sound can be installed in BB locos....I am just not a huge fan of the Blue Box locos (well not since the 80's)

Santa Fe had 24 U33Cs 8500-8524 all delivered 6/69 in pin stripe. They got Warbonnet paint 6/72. They were all retired by 12/84. Being GEs they didn't get west of KS too much.

Great photos and great looking loco fleet. I mostly appreciate your readiness to run blue box/fat boy, blue box narrow hood, P2K, Kato and Genesis power together in a mixed fleet.
I do the same. I even have some very smooth running super-detailed Spectrum power, (SD45s mostlt but a few GP30s also), that I run alongside Kato, P2K and improved Athearn, (Proto-Power West drives), in one big happy fleet.
    Thanks for sharing.

I was going to say, there's no way all of my Atlas U33's are incorrect. :tb-shocked:
