Wiseman Model Services has dozens of N scale brass steam locomotive parts (such as feedwater heaters, crossheads, cylinders, pumps, etc.) listed for what look to me like very reasonable prices. Were I planning to run steam, I think I'd go nuts over this stuff, so I wanted to pass the word along. Forward the info to those who might be interested. http://stores.ebay.com/WISEMAN-MODE...bZ15QQ_sidZ2417392QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322 A note on one of the auction pages states the following: THESE PARTS ARE FROM SEVERAL KOREAN BUILDERS INCLUDING, SAMHONGSA, MS MODELS PARTS MORE THAN LIKELY USED ON KEY, PSC, AND HALLMARK IMPORT MODELS MOST ARE LIMITED IN QUANTITY SO GET THEM WHILE YOU CAN! --B9 P.S. I've no connection to Wiseman -- I'm just passing this along as a courtesy to fellow N scalers.
thanks for this tip off. I glanced at the stuff and it looks great.. I am going to spend more time looking it over later today... Thanks again.. T
I swooped up one of those stainless N scale rules. $3 postage paid isn't bad at all for a stainless scale ruler.. N SCALE FLINT MODEL SUPPLY N GAUGE SCALE RULER LOOK! - eBay (item 390160670865 end time Mar-23-10 10:24:20 PDT)
Yes, I'm aware about these parts. A bit costly seems to me, but nice sure. Another option I've follow is the GHQ parts. Are kits in white metal to convert some models. For just less than 20 bucks a good assortment. Check here: Burlington O-4 Mikado Conversion A good article for this model but useful for any steamer: http://www.ghqmodels.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3260 and this one too : Southern Railways Ms-4 Conversion Kit and the related article: http://www.ghqmodels.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3301 Also Miniature By Eric have parts: http://www.miniaturesbyeric.com/itmidx7.htm http://www.miniaturesbyeric.com/itmidx8.htm my 2 cents Enjoy
They've been out there for several weeks. I picked up a couple of headlights and 2 Harriman style cylinder castings (of the type used for 2-8-0's, 4-6-0's, 2-6-0's, 4-4-2's and the early Pacifics of classes P-1 and P-3). Mike
I purchased about 20 parts from him. Fast shipment, great guy. I wish he had more blowdown spreaders, I bought his entire lot and it still wasn't enought. If someone wants to do an AC-9 conversion, he has the pilot and smoke stack. All you need is an IM AC-12 and a couple skyline castings from a CC GS-4.
