Gone Too Soon. As a new member here I never got the opportunity to interact with Wayne and feel as if I missed out on something great. Condolences to his wife and family, may they find comfort in the Lord.
At least when someone passes on, their posts remain and in Wayne's case, we are still able to draw on his wisdom and wit. Charlie
Watash "The Official Answer Man" was one of the first members of the TrainBoard that stood out for me when I first started reading the Board. First by his unique Avatar and then of course his posts. He was a part of the fabric of what the TB is. He will be missed and we can just be grateful for the time we had him. And as Charlie said his posts will live on. My Thoughts and Prayers go out to his family and those who were close to him.
Earlier I think I mentioned that I might name some feature on my layout after Watash, in his honor. Well, I did. Here is the Watash Creek Tunnel on my mini-layout. Scenery is only about 80% done, and there's a lot of touching up to do. Yes, I know the ground cover is out of scale. I didn't get it ground fine enough. The actual location of Watash Creek is still TBD. I've got water features planned on both ends of the tunnel, and I haven't yet decided whether they're different creeks or different parts of the same one. I hope he likes it!
Godspeed, Watash! Hopefully, Johnny Trains saved you a seat in the cab! Great idea, Twin dad. In honor of Watash' location, I think, "Watash Seed and Feed and Cattle" would be a great name for the grain elevator complex on the pike. -Mark
Thanks, Mark. I didn't know him very well, having just joined the forum this year, but somehow I think that its being on a tiny little beginner's learning layout makes it all the more fitting a tribute. It's not hard to recognize a good man when you meet him, even online. I agree, that's a good name for a grain business. "Watson's Seed & Feed" would work, too, but might not be quite as recognizable an "in joke" to the community. ("in joke" as a technical term, not really as a joke)
To Wayne's family, my heartfelt condolences. Wayne and Johnny interacted a lot, both on TB and over the phone. I do hope that they catch up on old times up in heaven. See you guys there one day. God Bless.
The good Lord needed a top notch machinist and Wayne has answered his call. Stay strong Jan, for Wayne is in a better place where love and happiness is all that is known, where there is no suffering but only the joy of the Lord and he is looking down on all, smiling, and awaiting the chance to be with you once again. To be with his friends once again and to share his love with all. Rest in piece my friend. You are missed...........
Wayne was a great guy and I'll miss him. From day one, Wayne encouraged me to get further into the business as we discussed some machining processes... I guess the rest is history, but I won't forget his friendship and kind words. You'll be missed my friend...
Wayne is here to celebrate, he was a great guy, full of information and no doubt sitting around the ol roundhouse in the sky free of pain, but laughing out loud at the stories being told...casey jones is probably telling him about his last ride. God bless and heartfelt wishes go out to his family. Hes not in pain any more and thats a good thing to know on this...the 10th year of this great board.
Watash...may he rest in peace I'd been gone away from the board for a long while and only recently returned to hear this news. I didn't know him well but he did answer a few questions for me and you knew that you were reading the words of a passionate person. Like the many others here, I too, will miss seeing him...
