New Kato Intermodal Sets

I just got my new Kato intermodal sets. The red Volvo looks really nice with the grille, bumper and headlights done plus black side stripes. The grille is black with a silver border and diagonal stripe with emblem. And the restocked white Volvo has a silver grille now. The black printed windows are glossy not flat this time on both sets. The wheels are silver on the black chassis with the Volvo.

The yellow yard tractor has the headlights painted; still not the rub strips or fuel filler. The black chassis in this set has black wheels.

Both containers in the "K" Line 2-pack have the same number.

I ordered 4 of the white ones when they first came out, figuring it might be a few years before they were re-run. I only got 1 of the red ones, figuring Kato will go thru 5-6 different colors before the year is over.

I too ordered more Volvos than I should have from the first release with the intention of repainting them to the colors I needed for my trucking fleets. Who knew they were later going to be offering different colors, and with better detailing?

Now all we need are some decal sets for the tractors. The red Volvo is almost perfect to use with my DeLuxe Knight Transportation trailers, but the Microscale sheet for the trailers does not have anything for the tractor cabs.

....Of special note are the door latch bars on the containers - they are printed silver - how nice !



These are vastly improved. Great Job KATO ! The chassis also have red tail lights printed on them (both sets).
.... and we thought that the first runs sold out quick !!
