Working on a project. I was just wondering who knows when CP transitioned logos. I model mid eighties and all the shots of CP autoracks out there are from the last few years. Not sure if I need the PAC man logo or just plain CP Rail. Thanks
I model 1986 Tony and I have both CP Rail and CP Rail + PacMan. The full "Canadian Pacific Railway" would be right out. Hope this helps, Glenn
Tony, this may help: http://www.trainweb.org/galt-stn/cproster/paint.htm 1980's is defintely going to be CP Rail or CP Pac-man, they were not replaced until the dual flags scheme to celebrate NAFTA in the 1990's. The other schemes (beaver and Canadian Pacific Railroad) followed the flags scheme. It looks as though the Pacman started disappearing in 1987? my best, Jan
Tony I just bought this book "Canadian Pacific Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment" published by Morning Sun Books. They show the auto racks from the mid 80's sporting the Red back ground with CP Rail in white sporting the Pacman logo. Here is a link to the publisher Morning Sun Books Inc. - Canada and Mexico Great book to have if you are modeling CP Rail freight cars
Sorry i forgot to add this other link I use a lot Canadian Freight Railcar Gallery - Canadian Pacific Railway
What panel is the logo located. The shots I have show CP Rail in the 3rd set of panels, 2nd from the top.
From the photo from the book shows the Pacman CP Rail in the 3rd row top panel with the car number on red background is sitting in the 3rd row 2nd panel from the bottom. Hope this helps.
