The Los Angeles to New Orleans Argonaut was usually a mix of T&NO and SP equipment through Texas. Here the power is a T&NO Pacific, the RPO/Baggage is SP the first coach is T&NO.
Nice Russ! Here's a a panoramic landscape shot I took in which I photo-shopped in more of a backdrop than I usually like to. But I think it was an interesting experiment.
You have a super fine image there, Bruce. Really nice view..so natural. Good work on the water-side reeds. This week, I show a steamer just about to emerge into late day sunlight from a timber portal on a hillside.
Very nice Pacific, Russ. Bruce, that is a beautiful photo. Crandell, great job on the timber portal, very realistic. NS, nice signal bridge. A trio of yard switchers. A pair of SW7's and an H-10-44, a rose between two thorns? DJ.
Great pictures, friends! I'm busy with a LaBelle Woodworking kit, a H0n3 combine. This kit is great, it's fun to build. Ok, there're a few problems for me, but anyway it's fun. Wolfgang
Wolfgang, it looks good to this point. Would you be willing to divulge what it is that has presented a problem for you? It may be instructive to others who would consider doing such a project.
Well, I have not much prototype information, pictures. The instructions gives something to think about. The stripwood is color coded. It would be a good idea if there were a translation for the code, i.e. the size of the wood. Sometimes I have problems to identify the color. I've made another HowTo site for this combine. Wolfgang
Utah Raailway 27 This is an Ahtearn BB kit, that I turned into a Utah Railway unit. They didn't use SW7s on the Utah, but I thought it looked good. I have yet to add the glazing, but just wanted to post an "in progress" shot.
Beautiful work everyone. This is on my new layout . Atlas U23B enters the yard, with a battered old temporary backscene propped up behind the bridge. Mike
Once again good work of all. My favorite is this. I did some testing shooting fotos with a 300mm telephoto lens and I`ve uploaded a short video to YouTube - Video. Have fun. Stefan
Here's a contribution from the counting thread. These still need to get weathered. But these are 13 and 14 in the counting with models thread. Hope you like them.
The photo backdrop points out the quality of the physical scenery, since it looks right together. As an aside, this reminds me why I like layouts with photo backdrops. It's the closest you can get to this effect in real life.
Way back in the late 70's early 80's I belonged to a social club called Texas Short Lines (TSL). As a group we built a On2 layout on three modules depicting a Louisiana sugar cane railroad for display at the Lone Star NMRA convention. It was later published in the December 1982 MR. Woodie Greene wrote the copy and M. Furlow took the pics. I just ran across some of the pics the other day and thought I would share. Everything on the layout was scratch built by the members and I hand laid the track work. The overall layout was 4 X 12 feet. Sadly these pics are the only thing remaining of that layout.
Russell, fantastic modeling of the Argonaut! The Pacific looks brass - whose model did it start life as? Did you add the tender? Wonderful work! Scott
