Walthers oil refinery question

    Hi,

    Im in the process of putting together this kit with, realistic lighting (reds, green and yellow lights) and im just curious as to what the building in the foreground with the stack is?
    i have absolutly no clue what so ever

    Interesting that you should ask, there is another active thread about the same product.

    I think that the structure in question is a furnace of some type.

    I copied your posts to the other thread. Maybe some help there. I do think it is some type of heating facility. The other tower is what I call a "cracking" tower that separates the crude oil into usable products. The cracking process requires heat, AFAIK.

    Hi Dom
    I've assembled three of the refinery kits for my layout. First, the structure you're asking about is the furnace building that heats the crude as the first step in the refining prodess. Secondly, my advice is to pay close attention to the order in which the platforms are attatched to the refining tower as well as getting the alignment of the first platform right (otherwise, all the platforms will be wrong and the piping won't line up, don't ask how I know this!).
