Here is a small start of the HO we have more photos of the N-scale waiting for a home here on railimages, work is still in progress. If the below link doesn't work sorry. I was just there and some of the photos seem to be missing, this is not my site to manage so I can't fix it. http://drennan3751.googlepages.com/home
Nearly all track is laid. I build in Horrobly 0versized. The new yard at Westport is not sceniced. Third Street Industrial District is nearly finished, just doint touchups & detailling: Plywood District and Harbor District have some scenery but also bare plywood - I mean cork. Wolfgang
I am in the middle of building the world's most expensive backdrop. If you think I'm kidding, I need to order another $700 worth of "parts" for it, and I'm not even sure that will finish it. It will be awesome looking if I ever get it done.
MrPlatts and Eric (RRREDNECK) Why not consider joining the Layout Party in The layout design Forum. We are always looking for participants, and still lots of time left.
I guess my phase would best be called frustrated CADing. I'm having problems coming up with something that fits my space, curve radius, Unitrack, and accessibility limitations. My N scale Unitrack layout needs to fit our dining room table (42"x62") with no more than a few inched of overhang. Room layout will make it basically a "viewed from 2 sides" affair. The thing that got me to go N/Unitack was the Kato Super Chiefs...which means a 15" main minimum radius, and 19" better. So far, everything I've come up with that I liked initially, after a few days looks seriously defective/inadequate <shrug>.
Well, this is my third layout. Its done for all practical purposes, just some very minor detailing left. HOWEVER..... :teeth: I have my eye on one corner. I may rip out the small oil storage facility there and put in an open air rail museum. I also want to scratch build a modern 'extension' on the 30's art deco style 'federal office building' that would span three tracks...... No, the layouts are never really done, are they?
Man I hate it when somebody replies in this thread as then I have to read it and then I realize that I'm WAY behind on my layout. Oh well, back to the drawing board, again, and maybe I can keep at it longer than usual. AD (procrastinating for fun and profit)
I'm beginning to think I'll never have a layout. Nuts. "Hmm... Kiz has four pieces of Kato Unitrack..."
Unitrak inverted triple loop with a siding on the floor. Roads, buildings, cars, people. I guess it's more dreaming than planning. At least I'm up and running. I have plenty of excuses not to do a permanent layout. I just need to find one to build it. RICK
I'm at this stage: Overview of layout My new Walthers well cars carry some APL containers as they emerge from the site of a future tunnel portal on the double-tracked main. View of the UP stack train speeding by. New trackage is on the left, and behind is the foam riser for the overhead tracks. The flood control channel cuts diagonally though the scene. A stack train on the double-track mainline runs through a canyon into a future tunnel. The design to the left of the tracks is where a riverbed will be made.
