I've been looking for an H.O. Athearn BNSF loco online and everyone seems to be out of stock. Did someone snatch them all up? Pickings are very slim on eBay as well.

I'm looking for an AC4400 or C44-9W "wedge" to go along with my Santa Fe C44-9W. It seems the wedge versions haven't been released. I'd settle for the Heritage II scheme.

Probably not a conspiracy. I cannot imagine who would benefit from such a scheme. Have you tried calling some brick and mortar hobby shops, ones that don't have shopping cart ordering systems?

    Good luck,

Hrmmm. they do seem in short supply.

Try modeling NS for shortage insanity...they only have, oh, 1000+ 9-40CWs, and no one seems to think model railroaders might want some of em. None in N, and in HO, athearn tools up and produces like 5 or so every few years.

I managed to find an Athearn Genesis C44-9W BNSF online with working ditch lights. I was just getting an itch because I recieved a payment thru paypal and don't want to wait for the bank funds to clear. I'll be heading to my local shop tonight to see what they have, left. :tb-biggrin:

I was just walking through Tammies in Beaverton Or early today, I don't recall a Trash 9, but I did see a Kato Wedge mid prod SD40-2.

I haven't seen any around here either.
Just another victim of the "limited run" mentality all the manufacturers seem to like nowdays. Purposely short-supply the market so you can charge a higher price for the product...
