The purchase obviously made someone very happy, and that is the best reason to buy *or sell* something. Good to know that even those items we tend to look down on might just mean the world to someone else!
East German Prakticas from the late 60s or early 70s are priceless treasure troves. Actually, any old 35mm film camera is. Once apart, you have a shoebox full of gears and springs and tiny screws that, of course, will never go back together again. I've never paid more than $1.00 at yard sales. But I'm not tearing apart my Nikon F from 1968. That is still the rock of ages--dropped out of a second story window, still ticking. I still have those shoeboxes somewhere.
