    Hey all-

I am wanting to build a new junction for the club. Currently, we have the corner junctions and 1 4' module that turns into a one track.

I have heard things about a "super junction" but this is my requirements:

-light weight - I plan to build it out of steel studs (i have a welder for this light work)
-Easy to transport - The current corner junctions are rather ungainly.
-Strait foward wiring - the club uses DCC pretty exclusively, and really, once the route is set, theres really not much in changing paths
-I would like it in the middle instead of the ends like the corners

    Any good ideas/plans?

I had a glance at the "Ntrak module How-to book" for ideas but I'm having difficulty picturing the type of junction you're referring to. Can you post a rough sketch or a brief description of the configuration in terms of the red, yellow and blue lines?

Just be sure to follow all the curve radius standards for Red Line throughout. I have been on many NTRAK layouts where the junctions have very tight radius curves that many of my close coupled trains do not make it through. I am running on the Red Line and all of a sudden I come to a junction with a 12" radius curve. Not good.

Here is a sketch i found. Something along these lines, but i need more input on making one of these. I believe its 22" min radius correct?

I guess you are hooking together three legs? You do not mention if there is a limit to the number of sections that make up this junction. Is there a space restriction? Do you want it kept to 2x4 sections? Any kind of scenery important or just whatever fits after the track is done? Let us know.

I want to hook together either 3 or 4 n trak set ups.

Here is some very crude MS Paint, I would like to keep the middle 3x3 ish, but i can fudge the specs a little. seeing how its going to be in the middle of 3 or 4 layouts, it doesnt really need to match perfectly on the 2 foot section rule. but like i said i am flexible. the clubs we are joining with dont mind, due to the fact that its going to be in the middle and we will use some some POFF's to make the connection and one of the yards for staging trains.

Please don't make fun of my bad MS paint skills. One picture shows how i would like the trains to traverse with the given fact that its going to be utilizing the outside red line.

What is the min. radi. you want to have? With a 3 ft x 3 ft the out side line will be 14.5 radi.

Ok, so i would need to go 4x4, what would that give me for a radius. I want to stay with 22 min prefered, but im sure we can fudge by with 20. All clubs have agreed that it will possibly be a little smaller than the spec, but will work with what we need to do. Besides, myself and a couple people are running 50 plus cars, but we are running DPU's anyways so it never really bothers our trains with small radius curves.

With a #5 switch at 4 x 4 the radi will be 18.7. I will see what I can get drawed out later tonight for you and post here.

I got an idea drawn out. There are 5 2ft x 2ft module with a 26in radi. This about the only way you will get the radi in this area. Did not know if you wanted all the tracks to be able to interchange or not. If so I can change it to fit all 3 tracks to interchange.

    Perfect!!!!!

I can't, i can make those easy to transport. I didnt really want the other tracks to interchange to be honest, just going to be more electrical headaches.
