This is what is listed as the description for this photo that bierbass posted.

The Gulf and Ohio, a local shortline, recently restored this Southern 2-8-0 was built in 1890. It had been donated to the City of Knoxville and on static display for 50 plus years. They stripped it all the way down to the frame and rebuilt it. It is heading up a local excursion train called the Three Rivers Rambler. A simple search of Southern 154 or Three Rivers Rambler will provide more info. There is also some footage on Youtube.

Wait a minute. Did I accidentally post a "Modelling" shot and thought it was the real thing?

Better get my glasses checked again. :tb-wink:

Here she is in color. Gotta love how a good B&W conversion masks some model giveaways. :)

    Mark,

It's an excellent shot. I just posted it as the first in the MPOTW thread.

    Buddy,

The same thing happened to me a couple time when i was doing the RPOTW thread. No worries. There are some excellent modelers here.

I wasn't sure if it was intentional or not, but kudos either way. Provided a much needed chuckle...

I agree and if it was truly by accident then all you have done is given the Ultimate Complement to the modeler/photographer for mistaking a model photo to be real. Trust me, there are some Model RR shots that truly look real and to me that is what the modeler/photographer is trying to achive.

Amen to all of the above comments about our members skills at modeling. I came very close to choosing model photos when I filled in for the normal POTW moderator. And, thanks for choosing one of mine, Buddy. :tb-biggrin:

    Albums or Railimages?

Question for SteamDonkey, BuddyBurton, and other "photo of the week" organizers. When you are choosing photos, do you choose them from Railimages, from the Trainboard albums, or both?

I make my choices from RailImages. There are links for photos from the last 1, 7, 14, and all days. Mostly it is the "last 7 days" that I look at.
