I spoke with Intermountain at the National Train Show. They have a survey there for Z-scalers about other body styles. It looks like they are considering committing to Z in more ways than just the hoppers. I suggested they put a poll on the major Z-scale forums to get a lot more information than what they can collect at NTS. He was excited about that and said he would try to do that when he got back home from NTS. Russ
Couple of photos of Intermountain's Hoppers. The end pieces and walkway are brass. They said couplers were the only questionable item. They did say they thought the problem might be solved pretty quickly and by release time they should not be a problem. ...don
I sent in my list to Intermountain at the National N Scale Convention through Hien. I mentioned some body styles, an F3 ABA, and code 40 flextrack #6-8 switches as really needed to get the ball rolling. With all these stagnant passenger cars we have, we need a variety of suitable locos to pull them, and with all the master modeler N Scalers on the fence looking at Z, we need the equivalant of N Scale's Code 55, which is code 40 in Z. I am very convinced that a code 40 flextrack system and a few more locos will tempt a lot of N Scalers teetering on the fence to try and hone their skills with a 2' x 4' superdetailed starter layout.
