Hello all, I have posted a Factory Update page to explain our production status: http://www.deluxeinnovations.com/FactoryUpdate.html While this is not idea, at least we know where we stand and I will try to keep you all updated too.
Much better explain why things have gone wrong, then stay quiet and leave us guessing when a product will ever show up. Wish more manufactures has this mind set.
Dave: Thanks for the honest update. The 20' containers and chassis is what I need most. I'll be happy to buy them and support Deluxe. I'll even buy a couple of extras.
Am I reading that right, the Maxi-Stack IV's are in production? Any idea of when they'll arrive? Thanks for the update. I hope everything works out. You can never have too many containers!
Thank you for the update. It is far better to inform the buying public than to have rumors run rampant, which they are wont to do.
Dave, Thank you for the update. It's nice to know what's going on. Best of luck to you and Deluxe through all of this. Adam
Dave, thank you for the update. I hope you will get production back on track soon, and wish you the very best. Some of your box cars are still on my waiting list (firm orders), and I am always happy to get some more of your pewter flat cars (I have most of the released numbers).
I am a new fan of Deluxe Innovations, and hope everything can be worked out, even with a new manufactuerer if one is out there. I am impressed with the honest report, and have a lot of respect and faith in this company to overcome and succeed. Ken "FloridaBoy" Willaman
Thank you all for the positive feedback. I felt it was only fair to let you all know the situation. Stay tuned. And yes the Maxi-IV is in production. With the Maxi-III production up in the air it becomes even more important to get it done soon. Dave
Good to know there is hope for new products! Hopefully you can finally get some good luck, it must be very stressful for you! Were you able to find somebody to make unitpack boxes yet? I'm moving in a few weeks and I was wishing I had bought a bunch a few years back!
You can't model the modern mainline scene w/o containers, and you practically can't model containers w/o Deluxe, ergo you can't model modern w/o Deluxe. Dave, I hope you're able to find a supplier that can produce the same excellent quality product we've grown accustomed to in years past. Best, Gary
Man this isn't good, especially considering that new product I was drooling over in Springfield. I wish we could get the smaller manufacturers together and set up a new factory in Thailand or India, where things seem to be a bit steadier than China latley.
I was going to say that...but I thought it was way too obvious :tb-wink:. All the unemployment etc....The good ol U S of A could use some help. Now I know labor is cheaper abroad. I also know I constantly B¤¤¤H about the rising cost of the hobby...BUT...I am more then happy to pay a little more...and buy a little more...as long as I can turn the Model over and see "Made In The USA" on it. Just sayin. :tb-cool: .
Unless you're modeling Sand Patch. I don't, which is one reason I model the Selkirk Branch - it's intermodal heaven!
Plenty of containers over Sand Patch - about 3 intermodal trains in each direction every day. They're generally not doublestacked though due to clearances, although pairs of the older non-high cube containers are stacked.
Everyone missed the point: Bachmann is playing hardball, putting the squeeze on smaller, more nimble companies by denying them access to manufacturing...
