Or i maybe an odd ball. Since my F40ph improvements have been shelved for the re-release of the Kato F40PH. I got to thinking, with Kato releasing the Amfleet and Horizon cars, what are the chances of them releasing an E60ch, slim to none I know. I have owned the Bachmann's E60 and I agree with the reviews I read that it sounds like a coffee grinder. So lets imagine what it would take to make a better E60. I have some ideas and wanted to see what you thought about it. I was thinking of makeing a new shell and mounting it on a new Kato chassis, But I am not sure if there are any other locomotives on the market that use the same trucks. even if I don't make a new shell, I would need to fix the open plow of the Bachmann loco and replkace the hand rails and ABOVE ALL strip that Gawd awful chrome finish and repaint it.
    Any other ideas?????

The Atlas Dash 8-40C/CW may be a good starting point. The truck centre spacing is a scale 2' shorter than the E60CH, which is 4mm in N. Whether the Atlas trucks have an offset gear tower which may allow the trucks to be reversed to nearer correct length I can't say as I don't have one.
Could well be worth considering, though.

Thats a good idea Gary, I figured that the trucks would have been used on other models.
I guess that it wasn't a popular locomotive like I thought.
