Tesuma - I love it. Um, Don't-cha think that steamer would look great! with a Jersey Central logo on the side? or maybe a GN "Rocky"?
I bought the FM because it was cheap and I plan on weathering the snot out of it and patching it for a shortline. I've had the idea for said SL kicking around in my head for awhile. I'm thinking about using 18" HCDs to make a shelf layout. Has anyone else tried that? The D51 will probably serve as does its real life analog - excursions and promotions. I might consider putting a CB&Q herald on it though. Andy Tetsu Uma
KATO GEVO #8758 These are a few shots of my new DCC/sound equipped KATO CP GEVO. The original was stripped, Delrin was blasted, new correct paint, details, decals, interior with crew added, new lights added to the MRC 1644-2, dual speakers: original on DCC board, new 13mm Soundtraxx in tank. Weathering with airbrush and drybrush. Please read, if interested, my commentary on the Diesel Kitbashers and Detailers Group (which I'm gonna start sometime today). Please forgive the goof on the right front 3/4 shot-the front handrail is out of it's mounting hole. And the rear shot was taken before weathering the white handrails. This engine runs great and is loud--too loud. I will turn down the volume to what I consider proper N scale sound, ie. most sounds, except the horn should be barely audible about 4-5 feet away. I just received my Kato GS-4 in American Freedom Train colors yesterday. I haven't had a chance to throw it on the club layout but when I do I will try to get some pictures. Here are some shots of it in the box.
I want to get this one to the club layout soon so I can really stretch it's legs - maybe run it as a double header with my 4449 in Daylight colors, which I realize is highly non-prototypical and also impossible, but I think it would look neat. One of my club-mates has some Amtrak cars there so maybe it will be a steam excursion. You made a really good bell when that other one got lost. I probably wouldn't have noticed had you not told me that there was a replacement on there.
Well. who coulda guessed that I'd by one of these, as soon as it was available... Running it leads me to post a new topic. And then I had to have one of these. I'm gonna find the perfect Christmas loco yet!

Here is a rare Atlas U.P. SD60M with the two window windshield configuration. I already did some upgrades to this locos like added a scale speed motor and a new PC board with brighter LED's.
I just picked up a new Kato "Lines" w/ forward numberboards GS-4 at a show on Sunday. Early birthday present to myself. :tb-cool:
