I spy one of the Fab Four on the right here. I was up at Portola a few years ago and ran 921D at the museum.
Today I got a couple of Kato units, I got an F40ph and a C44-9W. I can wait to run them. BTW the dash 9 came with rapido couplers anyone know what and where I can get a knuckle coupler set for it. Vince
Yup, my favorite locomotive of all time! I got the same loco at the Amherst Society Train Show this past January. I just got home so it's still in the box. I love the GS-4 in AFT colors. Now I have one in N, HO and O. Man Z and G versions are gonna be expensive!
Steve, it was great meeting you and Laura. I enjoyed our talks about trains and life. I will be there next year, can't wait!
Finally, I got to post a photo of my new locos. I think I waited for these for about a day short of forever. It was worth the wait; they make a very handsome trio in my opinion.
Yep, got 2 of them. I used to watch them in the 80's with the San Jose Auto train. Very cool then, and still great memories! Thats very cool you got to run the 921D, and I am glad she is saved.
CSX, they are Intermountain. I wish the yellow was slightly darker, but am still very happy with them. They have only been out for a week and are already hard to find. I bought one each of the three A unit road numbers and four of the B units (only one roadnumber so will have to get the rest renumbered).
Here is a triple header of Atlas UPY GP15-1's. I got these cause I really like these smaller locos they run great paired up they all have the same speed. I'm also working on a grain train since I saw a video that was sent to me by a member and I really liked the video. I already have a few hoppers but I will have to see if I can get a few more. The only thing I would like Atlas and all the other manufacturers besides Kato to do is to start putting working ditch lights on all the locos they make I mean let's face it it makes to loco look much much better.
Nope well at least not yet. We might be looking at moving again so I have to make sure I have the room for my layout or possibly a bigger layout then I will be looking at going DCC.
I finally found a new Kato Rio Grande SD70ACe heritage loco for well under $110 as most on ebay go for that much and I have to say this one looks great also and runs like a Kato.
