decaling is done, adding hundreds of thousands of detail parts is done... now these units just need some weathering before final assembly occurs. still missing : - weathering - glass - couplers - decoders
Sandro, Another great batch of engines there. I'm afraid to ask what your loco count is up to now.... Brian
Are these for you, or a customer? Fine, mighty fine work there. Care to list a few types of details you added, or some detail shots? I'm guessing this is a Kaslo Shops kit?
Looking great Sandro,I would be afraid to ask the loco count too lol..... As per Hemi, can you help out with build pic's or detail shots plz? Im trying to find a bunch of Kaslo stuff, not having much luck tho....
thanks for your kind words ! these are kaslo kits but as far as i remember they've been sold exclusively thru grant eastman. i picked my kits up when i visited him last summer. with these kits you have to choose whether you use the molded on grab irons or chip them off and use wire ones. of course i used the etched ones. then i drilled out the fans to use blma fans inside. 'cp rail' decals comes from microscale, everything else is printed on one of my alps printers. templates (stripes, antiglare and such) are provided from steve wiedmer. overview of details : - grab irons - custom made handrails (front and rear) - cut levers - mu hoses - fans (blma, add-on) - sinclair antennas - winterization hatch - windshield wipers (gmm, add-on) - mirrors (gmm, add-on) once the units are completed i will post more pictures. and regarding my loco count ..... - 4 dash-9 - 4 sd40-2 - 1 sd45 - 2 g40 - f3a/b - 2-truck shay - big boy oh wait... that's g-scale.... ;-) my excel sheet currently lists 357 n-scale locos....
Sandro, your efforts certainly mirror the amount of details I installed on my Kaslo/SAR F45 duo I did in 2008. I remember how painstaking it was to detail a pair--now I multiply that by 3, add the cosine of the tangent, divide by the square root of Pi, and wow, that took a long time to build that set! But what a set it is. Great stuff! At least you had an easy paint job to speed things along!
