Hi everyone! I'm a new member here just working my way back into the hobby after a long absence. I have picked up N scale in my return to get the best bang for my available space. I'm well into building my new layout that I started in March of this year. It's 3'x16', depicting Conrail near the end of it's days in 1997. My two boys ages 12 and 15 are helping out a good bit which has made this really a great experience. I'm a modeler first, so I'm concentrating on detailing locos from bare shells with aftermarket parts and decals as that's the part of the hobby I enjoy the most, along with building painting and weathering structures. I also enjoy weathering freight cars. I have trains up and running which was a pretty good accomplishment at this point I felt. It''s DC with a cheapie power pack for now, but the next step is get the DCC up and running. I look forward to learning and sharing with what seems like a great community here. Joe
Welcome to trainboard! N scale definitely is the best for space (Sorry, Z scale, not enough commercial products.) Post some pictures of your layout. We'd like to see your progress!
Welcome aboard Joe, You should enjoy your ride here. Look forward to seeing your layout and reading post. Njoy Glen
Thanks for the welcome guys. I'll work on getting some photos together. Worked on some wiring this weekend. I was using suitcase connectors on feeder to bus wiring and they are just an awesome time saver. Great stuff!
I will add my welcome, Joe. No matter your choice of scale(s), a love of trains and of playing with mini versions of them is what we're all about here. I hope you have a very pleasant experience here...I have.
Welcome, Joe! I work my way in and out of this hobby often due to life's demands. Welcome back! It always feels good coming home ;-)
