This engine runs get but it hops down the track1 and 3 driver touch the rail and then 2 and 4 drive wheel touch which makes it bounce like one of those cars with hydrolic. is there anyone that could help with some ideas before i send it back to bachman.
    Thank ahead of time Greg

My eyes are kind of bouncing around 1 to 3 and 2 to 4 trying to understand exactly what you are trying to say. Sorry bout that !!! Kind of sounds like it is not running smoothly ? Do not try to fix it yourself, just return it to Bachmann and they'll replace it. Something is wrong with the track 1 and 3 touch. LOL ! Just return good buddy.

If you are somewhat familiar with quartering, looks to see if the connection points for the side rods, thats the rod that connects all 4 wheels, make sure that they are all in the same position on one side, then check the other side, they should all be in the same position, but 90 degrees either ahead or behind, and all in the same position. If you need better explanation, we can point you in the right direction.
    Good luck with it.

Here's what he means. When stopped, if the drive rods on the Left side of the loco (fireman's side) are flat straight line and in the bottom of the stroke (6 o'clock) position of the drive wheels, then the drivers on the right side (engineer's) should be flat straight with the connector pins for the driverods in the 12 o'clock position (full up) If they are not, you have a problem.

Send it to Bachmann, andf they'll fix it. Otherwise, you seem to have an engine that is rocking, almost like the drivers are not perfectly round and not mounted with their axles at the same height. Also fgixed by7 sending it to Bachmann.

I think you are off a bit. If the rods are at 6 oclock on one side they should be at 9 oclock on the other. Someone corecct me if Im wrong.

I could be, I thought it was cross-opposite, but it could be 6 and 9, hence the "quartering"
