I still have to add all the wire grab irons but otherwise I am finished with these cars. These are some of the new Walthers HO cars based on the UP prototypes. I did have to do a lot of kit bashing like adding the open platform and swapping the vestibule end to end on the sleeper.
Oooohhh....very nice, Russell. I sure love that powerful illumination you manage to use, too, Mine shows a J Class just getting the High Ball. Two blasts on the whistle are evident from the rising plumes just behind the stack.
Visiting home for the holidays, I caught this double headed steam freight pass some type of mill on the Burlington Route.
Nice picture, I especially like the weathering/coloring on the turntable boards Crandell  Great pictures everyone!!
That looks just like an N scale car! Seriously, I thought you were making this in N scale? Very nice and innovative kit bash.
Thanks. Oh, I plan on doing some in N also. I have a few UP dome cars and sleepers put aside. When I had the decals made, I had them printed in both sizes. I painted up and hand lettered some N scale cars like this many years ago for the museum. They were used at its annual gala to help auction off trips on the prototype cars for fund raisers. Somewhere along the line those cars disappeared so they need to be replaced.
Mike, you sure brought that RDC to life with many subtle details. Weathering, figures, lighting, etc... I'm sure theres more others may see. NS, that is one funky looking GP30. I have never seen a high hood unit as I model the SP with low hoods only, as far as I know. Thanks for posting that. I don't have anything new as I am modifying the layout before moving forward. So I played Godzila for a day then realized my caulking gun and glue is at the club shop. Darn! Simply bringing my passing sidings closer together for a more proto look.
I've been working on my Layout Party building. I need to place some vehicles around it, so I was looking at my old vehicle photos. Here are some of them for WNFF. TOFC Yard: Carolina Trucking home made decals: GHQ Fleetliner kit. Trailer is DeLuxe Innovations Scratch N Dent. Peterbilt:
No Athearn. Atlas or old Concor trailers; Atlas tractors. They are custom painted and detailed. Thanks.
I finished assembling my trio of girder bridges, now it is time for paint and detailing. Unfortunately the girder bridge will be hidden behind the truss bridge on the layout.
